229 Queen Street, Toronto, M5V 1Z4
A bona fide music institution, Kops Records is the oldest independent record store in Toronto. It might seem small, but there are a couple floors for the tonnes of crates of vinyl that fill the place. Ranging in genres from Garage and Punk, to Blues and Soul, to Motown and Country, there are plenty of stacks to keep you occupied for a whole afternoon. Offering some of the best prices in the city on new releases and hosting a huge collection of 45s (the largest in the city according to their Facebook page), there are plenty of reasons to stick your music-hunting mind through the door. Last but not least, they’ve got a bargain bin worth dirtying your fingers in for at least as long as it takes to find a passable copy of London Calling. Even if you aren't going to play it, everyone needs to own London Calling.
