Barsa Taberna is a modern Tapas premium casual restaurant, situated in the heart of downtown Toronto facing the St. Lawrence market. The restaurant's unique concept will offer a combination of electrifying Tapas, Entre and Drink menus. The influence of Barcelona is the leading inspiration in our concept and design, where hints of Picasso and Gaudi’s references are portrayed. Our concept is derived from the distinctive atmosphere, art, cuisine and culture of Barcelona as we thrive to create a vibrant, upscale yet casual experience for our patrons.
Barsa’s concept and inspiration was derived from the Director and Partner Aras Azadian and his experience living in Barcelona. Aras` extravagant experience in Barcelona has driven his aspiration of replicating the ambiance of Barcelona, including its art, culture and of course its cuisine in his home city of Toronto. Barsa Taberna was designed and delivered by John Tong and the Tong Tong team; it will be managed by G.M. Romy Farhadi and the 15 group hospitality consultants.
Barsa Taberna will offer unique and exciting hot and cold modern Tapas selections, reflecting the diverse multicultural culinary flavours and techniques of the World, found in Toronto. The menu will also offer approachable casual dining favourites created by our Chef with a distinctive Barsa flare. The menu will be complimented with an extensive and exclusive wine list, cocktails menu and an exclusive Barsa Sangria section, perfect for our terrace.
Barsa Taberna is located at 26 Market Street (Old Town) Toronto, across the St. Lawrence Market. The location of the restaurant is one of the historic heritage properties of Toronto and is protected by the heritage board. The site was originally structured in 1870, and has maintained is authentic identity including its original exposed masonry work. European inspirations, art and architecture have been infused by John Tong (Tong Tong), with this stunning historic building to create a truly unique atmosphere, which is perfectly complimentary to our unique concept. Barsa will also have a large terrace that sits on a newly built pedestrian walkway on Market Street, facing the St. Lawrence Market.
