The summer solstice is only a couple more days away, which means that your life is about to get a whole lot better. Forget allergies and the mother-nature-is-in-a-funk kind of weather because Make Music Vancouver is returning for its third edition this June 21.
The crowd-sourced music festival is taking over the streets of Yaletown and Gastown with over 150 local acts performing at every pub, plaza, corner and doorway. All genres and abilities are represented – making the price all the more reasonable – oh yeah, nearly forgot to mention that the event is completely free.
While it may seem like a nightmare to be surrounded by a mixture of loud noises – think Rolling Stones cover in one ear and Norwegian rock in the other – it’s really not all that bad. In fact last year 25, 000 people showed up to Make Music and the festival is expecting an even bigger turn-up this year.
Be sure to come out and support a wonderful event that’s entirely a grassroots effort. Volunteers organize Make Music and musicians play for free. All you have to do is show up and support the damn thing. So what are you waiting for? It’s easy. You spend all day on the couch anyway…
