One of the most famous rock festivals in history will be celebrating its 20th birthday this year, as Lollapalooza has finally announced its 2011 lineup after weeks of anticipation.
Early bird tickets sold out in just over an hour on April 5th without anyone even knowing who would be performing at the Lollapalooza 20th Anniversary in Chicago. It seemed it didn’t really matter, as people just wanted to be a part of this historic event regardless of who would be performing.
Well, the Lollapalooza 2011 lineup was finally revealed today, offering what looks to be a mixed bag of artists not much different from what we saw of Coachella on the west coast. Eminem headlines the festival along with big names including Foo Fighters, Coldplay and Muse.
What may be surprising to some is the lack of older artists or band reunions that would have brought a Lollapalooza ‘90s nostalgia to life for those who wanted to relive the glory days of alternative rock and those who may have been too young to experience it for themselves.

It’s happening this August 5th – 7th at Grant Park, Chicago.
