50,000 people flooded Downsview Park for the first ever VELD Music Festival over the weekend.
No, it wasn’t Canada’s largest EDM festival, but it was damn near close with the likes of Deadmau5, Avicii, Steve Aoki, Steve Angello, and dozens more rocking two separate stages.
Those who forked over two bills for the two-day event saw some of the biggest names in electronic music perform with few problems other than the run-of-the-mill festival standards: dirty Porta Potties, overpriced food and drinks and sketchy weather.
In all, VELD was very well organized. Humidly hot weather meant less clothing, which is almost always a good thing too.
